I hope everyone has had a lovely holiday. I just wanted to share the joy I found this year in making gifts for a couple people on my list, whom I love very much, but are typically hard to shop for. So, what do you get for those people who have everything?
A Guardian Angel and an Eagle Totem are what I came up with for my in-laws this year. It's so much more fun making art for people you know. For instance, I already knew that my husband's stepmother loved blue glass so I started with a couple of my biggest, chunkiest pieces. Oh, and an old dried up bottle of blue nail polish I found in an alley somewhere made the perfect angel face! My father-in-law is a rugged, outdoorsy kind of a guy, so I started with my favorite pieces of rusty metal. (That sounds like a strange kind of complement, but you know how I love rusty metal :-)
The result…. works of art to guard over and protect you! This is "Blue Angel Heart" and "Thunderbird Eagle Totem". So much more fun than a gift card, right?
Peace in the New Year,
Jane
