These new little (8" x 8") mixed-media monoprints are so vastly different from the large, detailed soft pastel paintings I usually do, and I am having SO much fun making them. The monoprints are very unplanned and surprising, many requiring several passes with more and different colors of paint. From there, I usually know what type of mixed-media to add, depending on the monoprint and what story it wants to tell.

For several years now I have been collecting 'found objects' like broken glass, pottery shards, rusty bottle caps and pieces of old metal, most of which I find on the ground, in an alley, a parking lot or by a canal. I started adding these things to my art and eventually just making these things (aka: junk) into the art itself. Now people give me things like broken jewelry, old tools, cracked china or glass tiles, instead of throwing these things away. So I get to feel like I'm recycling, re-creating and saving the planet a little bit at a time, by keeping junk out of landfills and putting it on your walls instead! :-) I hope you enjoy my assemblages.
